GES opens computer placement portal for school checking

The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) following the release of the second cycle school postings has finally opened the computer placement portal for students who sat for 2021 BECE to check their placed schools.

announcing the release of the 2021 school placement on Friday, the Education Service said about 555,353 students qualified for postings into various public secondary schools but the placement can be checked from Saturday.

“The 2021 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal will go live on Saturday, March 26, 2022,” the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ministry of Education (MoE) jointly announced yesterday.

A total of 367,811 Junior High School (JHS) students who partook in the national examination administered by the West African Examinations Council in 2021 it said have automatically been placed into one of the selected schools.

“This means a total of 187,542 qualified candidates will have to do self-placement to select from available schools since they could not be matched with any of their choices,” a statement from the Ministry of Education explained on Friday.

Unfortunately, over 16,000 students who had grade 9 in English Language or Mathematics, a spokesman for the Education Ministry said were not placed into any school based on the placement system (CSSPS) guideline policy
