NTC denies opening of licensure exams registration portal

The management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) following denied claims the teacher licensure exams registration portal has been reopened has urged the general public to disregard any such information elsewhere.

“NTC wishes to inform all prospective candidates of GTLE to ignore a publication in circulation about the opening of the portal for Licensure Examination registration,” the spokesperson for the Teaching Council said on Monday

In a communique sighted by EducationWeb, the Council’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Dennis Osei-Owusu said a date for teacher licensure exams registration will be duly communicated to students preparing to sit for the test.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education agency (NTC) responsible for licensing newly trained teachers has said it will on April 21 and April 22, 2022, conduct the 8th edition of the Ghana teacher licensure examination at various centres.

“The Management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) humbly requests the use of your institution’s halls for the 2022 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE),” the statement to some Management of public Colleges stated.

In other news, the management of the Ghana Teaching Council after introducing an entrance examination for students seeking public College of Education (CoE) admission has reviewed the Ghana teacher licensure examination (GTLE).

The review of the GTLE a source close to NTC has told EducationWeb is to enable teacher trainees to sit only a paper on their field of study since they took an entrance examination before being given College of Education admission.

“There have been some new reforms which will allow teacher trainees to write only a paper on the field of study due to the fact trainees would have to write entrance exams before they can be granted admission to enter college,” it said.
