Grammy-winning vocalist Anita Pointer passed on at 74 following a fight with malignant growth.
The vocalist kicked the bucket on Saturday, New Year's Eve, at her home in Los Angeles, US, where she was encircled by family.
Pointer's family, in a proclamation on Instagram on Sunday, reported that "Anita Pointer of the Pointer Sisters passed on after a gallant fight with disease."
"While we are profoundly disheartened by her demise, we are helped in realizing she is currently with her sisters, June and Bonnie and her little girl, Jada. Paradise is a more gorgeous , cherishing place with Anita there," it added.
Anita was one of the establishing individuals from the R&B bunch The Pointer Sisters, who enchanted fans all around the world with hits including I'm So Energized, Bounce and Fire.'
Alongside sisters Ruth and June, the gathering from Oakland, California, delivered its most memorable collection in 1973 preceding winning three Grammy grants.
