The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Damongo Senior High School in Damongo has donated 30 bags of rice to the school in honour of a call by the school's authority for support.
The school in recent times have run out of supplies to feed students.
The donation by the school's PTA follows an earlier one by the member of Parliament for the area, Samuel Abdulai Jinapor.
The chairman of the association, Wakawaka-Wura Mumuni Joseph Akati, whiles presenting the items, said the donation is the Association's widows mite geared at ensuring food security in the school.
He used the opportunity to appeal to parents to honor the Association's levies to enable it undertake similar initiatives in future.
Mr. Masahudu Zakaria who received the foodstuff on behalf of the Regional Director of Education, expressed appreciation to the PTA and said the donation was timely.
He added that the donation made by the PTA would go a long way to augment the school's efforts at ensuring students are adequately fed.
Chief Dramani Kipo, Assistant headmaster of the school incharge of administration assured that management of the school would put the food to good use to accomplish the intended purpose.
The Assistant Headmaster also conveyed words of gratitude to the PTA for the kind gesture.
