The Savannah Regional Coordinating Council has emerged as the 3rd best performing council among the 16 regions of Ghana for the year 2022 in the Local Government Service (LGS) rating.
This was made known in the Local Government Service 2022 performance evaluation report on RCCs and MMDAs published by theLocal Government Service.
The head of the office of Local Government Service released the rankings after a monitoring and verification exercise of the 2022 service performance contract of all 16 Regional Coordinating Councils with emphasis on their overall assessment.
Excellent was the highest score rate in the report, while Good was the lowest, which had the Volta, Greater Accra, Savannah, Eastern, Western, and the Ahafo RCCs claiming excellent.
Meanwhile, the Western North Regional Coordinating Council placed 16 after scoring a good rating performance.
The Volta RCC placed 1st after garnering 97.25 points, Greater Accra RCC came second with 94.50 points, the Savannah RCC, which came third, scored 93.00 points, Eastern RCC keenly followed with 92.75 points, Western RCC had 87.00 points with the Ahafo RCC scoring 86.75 points completing the excellence category in the report.
ARCC, NRCC, UWRCC, CRCC, NERCC, ORCC, UERCC, BRCC, and BERCC, which scored between 78.50 and 70.40 points and placed 7th15th position scored "very good" category.
The Western North Regional Coordinating Council came last in the rankings after garnering 64.90 points representing a "Good" category, which is the least in the report.
