Passengers travelling along the Bamboi- Wa highway are stranded as the Bole-Sawla section of the road is cut off.
The road was washed off following hours of rain in the area on Sunday.
A bridge linking Bole and Doli community was completely washed off in the process making it impossible for vehicles and humans to cross.
The road is the only link between the south of the country and the Upper West region and Bole to the savannah regional capital.
The Savannah regional director of the national disaster management organisation, Mohammed Tohir in a telephone interview said the incident is being reported to the roads ministry for action.
