Good news as NSS personnel will longer travel to Tamale for registration

Personnel of the National Service Scheme in the Savannah Region will longer travel to Tamale the Northern Regional capital to register to serve the Nation.

This was disclosed by the Savannah regional administrator of the scheme, Mr. Alhassan Yakubu Yahaya, at an event to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the scheme held at the conference of the SRCC on Thursday, September 7, 2023.

The occasion was also held to honour the fallen heroes of the scheme who struggled in serving the institution.

Describing the development as a milestone, Mr. Yahaya asserted it will cut cost of personnel and reduduce the risks associated with travelling to Tamale.

He further revealed that the secretariat of the National Service Scheme in the region will commence the registration of personnel this year at the Damongo Community Center.

The commemoration which was observed by the Savannah Regional secretariat of the scheme was also held across the country.
