NDC Communicator proposes solutions to ongoing voter registration exercise

The former Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency, Elijah Kipo has penned down proposals to challenges facing the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.

The party at all levels has raised concerns at how the electoral commission is carrying out the exercise including late starts, breaking down of equipment and network challenges.

Mr. Elijah in an open letter also raised more concerns.

Below is the letter he copied to kashafmonline.com

A LETTER TO MY HOPE: NDC

Good morning senior comrades, comrades, cadres etc.

The Electoral Commission is doing an online registration which relies on an Internet Service Provider.

The NDC has established that the EC is in bed with the NPP and government as a whole.

The Government through National Communication Authority, NCA and National Identification Authority, NIA from the initial paragraph is a Vehicle for this whole online registration.

NIA has backlog and others, NCA supervises the Telecom Service Providers which provide the internet service.

The NDC is not able to tell which Teleco is providing Service to the EC for their online registration neither my hope knows the relationship of that Teleco Company with the NCA or the mother ministry.

Other Registration Centers are having challenges of Internet Service as I type.

Remedy 1

The EC should either do offline registration or ensure that the exercise is smooth.

Remedy 2

The Court /Judiciary is not an option, the NDC IT team has work to do with that of the EC

Remedy 3

Is what I'm thinking through.
